Seeks to understand how earth processes affect and are affected by human activities by describing and explaining physical environments and features of the earth. Includes tectonic processes that shape the earth; structure of the atmosphere and solid earth; hydrologic cycle and distribution of water; formation of landscapes and characterization of regions; location of political boundaries and physical features using maps; and human-environment interactions.
