Description
A minor in theatre is for students to enhance their knowledge and experience as well as to participate in theatre.
Admission to the Program
Any undergraduate student can declare this minor.
Program Requirements
A minimum of 18 credits is required; at least 9 credits must be taken at Brockport.
All theatre minors must participate in the production program of the department.
All theatre minors are urged to participate in auditions for department-produced productions based on departmental guidelines.
Required Courses
- ONE of the following courses:
- THE 111 Introduction to Theatre
- THE 201 Theatre Arts
- ONE of the following three-credit options:
- Option 1:
- THE 202 Stagecraft
- Option 2: THREE different 1-credit practicum courses:
- THE 101 Acting Practicum
- THE 102 Lighting Practicum
- THE 103 Directing Practicum
- THE 104 Sound Practicum
- THE 105 Painting Practicum
- THE 106 Costume Practicum
- THE 107 Stage Crew Practicum
- Option 1:
- A minimum of four additional theatre courses by advisement
