Description

The Brockport Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a unique 36-credit hour program designed for working professionals, especially those in small- to medium-sized enterprises. It is designed to increase the leadership and management skills of early and mid-career professionals who are interested in taking on expanded roles within their organizations. The program is delivered using a combination of synchronous and asynchronous technology mediation (i.e., via online modality) along with three face-to-face weekend residencies per year.

The participants progress through the curriculum in cohorts with the curriculum lasting two years. The capstone experience consists of an integrative project.

The program is part-time, cohort-based and can be completed in two years. Students take no more than 6 credits (two courses) each semester.

Admission to the Program

Students must have a bachelor's degree or its equivalent from a regionally-accredited college or university. International students with degrees issued outside the U.S. must meet the standards for a U.S. baccalaureate degree. Students who are admitted without the necessary academic preparation may be admitted conditionally and required to complete a configuration of undergraduate courses or other preparatory courses before beginning the graduate program.

Applicants to the Brockport MBA program must submit a completed application. Application materials will be made available online. Criteria and procedures for application require submission or evidence of the following:

  • Official transcripts of all prior undergraduate and graduate work, documenting receipt of a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited four-year college or university as noted above with a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. • Evidence of 3.0 or higher overall undergraduate grade point average.
  • A personal statement of educational objectives

Criteria for admission are evaluated in the context of applicant's demonstrating appropriate interest and likelihood of success in completing the degree.

Exceptions are considered for the work experience requirement and the GPA requirement and granted on an individual basis based on the materials submitted by the applicant. Factors that may motivate exceptions include: Internship and/or co-op experience, honors earned by the applicant, professional work experience at a level deemed to illustrate superior indications of success in the program.
