ITA 111 Beginning Italian I (A,R)

Develops language skills in Italian (listening, speaking, reading and writing), as well as an understanding and appreciation of Italian culture. Includes oral comprehension drills, pronunciation exercises, sentence formation, vocabulary, verbs, and simple readings on Italian culture. Provides succinct explanations in English, followed by group and individual practice in Italian. Includes audio/video work. 3 Cr. Fall.

ITA 112 Beginning Italian II (A)

Prerequisite: ITA 111 or two years of High School Italian or one semester of College Italian or equivalent.

Provides a continuation of ITA 111. Further develops language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing), as well as the understanding and appreciation of Italian culture. Includes regular and irregular verbs, vocabulary building, more complex sentences, and more varied readings on Italian culture. Provides succinct explanations in English, followed by group and individual practice in Italian. Includes audio/video work. 3 Cr.

ITA 211 Intermediate Italian I (A)

Prerequisite: ITA 112. 3 Cr.

ITA 212 Intermediate Italian II (A)

Prerequisite: ITA 211. 3 Cr.

ITA 399 Independent Study in Italian (A)

Prerequisite: ITA 212 and considerable study of literature and instructor's permission.

Arranged in consultation with the instructor-sponsor and in accordance with the procedures of the Office of Academic Advisement prior to registration. 1-3 Cr.
